So...whaddia wanna know?
I've been drawing and dreaming since grade school. I grew up on a healthy dose of Saturday morning cartoons of the '80s and Marvel Comics. Since those days I've always wanted to create wild and crazy stories about heroes and villains, like the stuff the kept me entertained. Nowadays, I still keep up on the comics and cartoons but now its mostly to follow my favorite artists and animators - following my idols and their creations.
The majority of my training is self-taught through exploration of different mediums as well as monkeying around with different software programs. Although I'm sure I have alot to learn yet, I have hammered my way though learning basic web design and most of the core Adobe applications. I'm coming close to crossing the line into full blown tech geekdom.
I graduated college from Columbia College, Columbia, Missouri with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration & Graphic Design.
I'm a big fan of movies and music. As far as music goes, I listen to a wide variety of styles and sounds. Everything from Metallica, Slayer and Pantera to Moby, Mozart and Barry White. Rap, Metal, Soul, Blues, Electronica...it's all good.

My artistic influences...

From the the world of comics: John Romita Jr. & Sr., Lee Weeks, J.G. Jones, Gary Frank, Norm Breyfogle, Frank Cho, Kieron Dwyer, Will Eisner, Mike Allred, John Buscema, Alan Davis, Mike Zeck, Gene Colan, Adam Hughes, Bruce Timm, Steve Rude, Casey Jones

Other artistic influences: Robert Williams, Coop, Mitch O'Connell, Drew Struzan

The tools of the trade...

For my art, I use Bristol illustration board, Sanford Turquoise clutch held mechanical pencils with HB, 2B or 2H leads. I tend to have a heavy hand when I pencil; any harder or softer leads and I've killed my drawing surface. For inking I use Rapidograph technical pens. I'm working on my inking skills - trying to work with the traditional inking tools; sable brushes, Speedball dip pins, etc. Once I get the inks done, its off to my Mac for scanning, coloring and additional finishing. My regularly used tools:
